Why can't we stop comparing?
Why can't we stop comparing?
The moment I see someone,
There are times when my heart is shaken.
People who do the same thing,
People in the same field,
The one who got the chance before me.
At that moment, in my heart
A quiet question comes to mind.
"Why was he chosen?"
At first, it seems like a simple idea.
But the idea quickly leads to emotions.
And that feeling
I start to shake my mind much faster than I thought.
4 reactions that occur in the mind when the comparison begins
When a person starts to compare,
A similar psychological flow usually appears.
1. Comparison
"Wouldn't I be better than him?"
2. Jealousy
"Why did he have a chance?"
3. resentment
"The world doesn't seem fair."
4. blame oneself
"Am I not good enough?"
These four emotions
It doesn't just appear to special people.
This is a natural response that almost everyone experiences.
So the problem is
It's not like this feeling is created in itself.
The real problem starts when the emotions continue
Emotions come naturally.
But if the emotions don't stop,
A story is made in my mind.
Comparison makes sense,
The story can be interpreted,
The interpretation is eventually certain.
And a lot of people
At the end, we come to this conclusion.
"I'm not good enough, after all."
At this moment,
My mind starts to lose its strength.
Some people stop thinking here
Everyone
I don't follow this idea all the way through.
Some people
I'm going to pause at this point.
And I say very short things.
"Jesus is Christ."
This means
I'm not denying emotions.
This is not an effort to get rid of jealousy either.
It's just,
It's a sign that stops your thoughts from flowing deeper.
When you stop thinking, you change your mind
As soon as I said this,
The flow of my mind changes.
The comparison doesn't go any deeper,
Jealousy doesn't grow into a story.
I'm not sure of resentment,
Blaming yourself is not an identity.
My heart
It's back to the present.
The human mind follows the direction of thought rather than emotion
A lot of people
I try to get rid of my emotions.
But what really matters is that
It's not emotion, it's the direction of thinking.
The moment the flow of thought changes,
My mind starts to change as well.
And then,
I experience peace again.
